This was my first project for my Alternative Firing Class. For the first project we were focusing on western glazed raku. Raku is a low temperature firing process where you take the piece out of the kiln while still hot and put it inside a chamber, like a closed metal trash can, and add combustables. Western raku was pioneered in the 1960's.
